Shah Alam is the state capital of Selangor, Malaysia. The city situated within the Petaling District and a small portion of the neighbouring Klang District. It is located about 25 kilometres west of the country's capital, Kuala Lumpur. At the centre of this city are the Lake Gardens where a number of imposing landmarks are clustered around a couple of man-made lakes.

Culture & Heritage

Shah Alam is most famous for its mosque, the Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah for which the city has become famous. Also known as the Blue Mosque, its overlooks the Garden of Islamic Arts, a landscaped park inspired by the Quranic Garden of Paradise. This 14 hectares of spiritual sanctuary houses nine galleries exhibiting a rich array of Islamic arts such as calligraphy, sculptures, paintings and architecture.


No visitor should miss a trip to the Sultan Alam Shah Museum which contains interesting displays on the history, natural history, culture and heritage of Selangor. This museum is the biggest in the state. Selangor State Assembly Building another attractions in Shah Alam is looks somewhat like a towering spaceship which is also a landmark in Shah Alam.
